Daymaniyat Islands Snorkeling Tour

During our stay at the St. Regis in Muscat, we booked a half-day snorkeling tour through the concierge, choosing the local operator, Oman Sea Tour, over a private option. Our group tour turned out to be a fantastic experience, though a private tour would offer greater flexibility, especially with small children.

After a quick transfer to the marina, we boarded a speedboat with around 15 other guests for a 30-minute ride to the Daymaniyat Islands. Since it was nesting season, the turtles had claimed the sandy beaches, so we remained offshore to protect their habitat. As soon as we dipped beneath the turquoise waters, a vibrant underwater world opened up: coral reefs, schools of colorful fish, and turtles gliding gracefully all around us.

We explored two different snorkeling spots, each more stunning than the last, spending a full two hours immersed in the beauty of Oman’s marine life. Our children, aged 2 and 5, were thrilled to snorkel alongside us, each equipped with gear sized perfectly for them. The crew on board was attentive, offering water, juice, and sandwiches to keep us refreshed.

This snorkeling trip was the absolute highlight of our Oman visit! It’s an unforgettable experience just a short distance from Muscat, and the organization was impeccable. If you’re planning a trip to Oman, don’t miss the chance to explore the Daymaniyat Islands' incredible underwater world.
