Lapita Dubai Parks and Resorts
Drive approximately 35min from Dubai
When I go on a staycation, I like to escape the city entirely. But, there are a few exceptions, and Lapita Resort is definitely one of them. For starters, it’s so far out of the city it almost feels like you’ve ventured into another Emirate. But beyond its distance, this resort offers so much more.
The Polynesian-themed design is truly stunning. From the lush greenery to the architecture, every detail transports you straight to the tropical vibes of Hawaii or Fiji. You’re surrounded by swaying palms, vibrant flowers, and a warm island atmosphere that makes you forget you're still in the UAE.
One of the best perks of staying here? You get two park tickets per person, per day—which feels like a crazy deal considering the price! It’s perfect for families planning to hit the nearby theme parks, but even if that’s not on your agenda, the resort itself is packed with activities and charm.
The rooms are spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully designed with families in mind. They’re conveniently arranged around the heart of the resort: its water attractions. There’s a kid-friendly pool, a splash park, and a lazy river that winds through the property, making it the perfect playground for little ones (and adults who just want to float the day away). There’s also an adorable wooden playground and a large kids’ club, offering activities throughout the day.
My personal highlight? The Tiki Club, a second kids' club with a Polynesian twist. Managed by two incredibly sweet women from Fiji, this club introduces children (ages 4 to 12) to traditional crafts reimagined in a fun, hands-on way. It’s a wonderful cultural touch that makes the experience even more unique.
Throughout the day, the resort keeps the entertainment coming. The kids love meeting the mascots, Polynesian dancers bring energy to the lobby, and there’s even fish feeding by the pond near the spa. The whole vibe is relaxed, fun, and family-friendly—it’s hard not to catch yourself with a little extra bounce in your step while you’re there.
When it comes to dining, there’s plenty of variety. You can enjoy the buffet restaurant, an à la carte option, or grab a bite at the pool bar and restaurant. Mornings and evenings at the buffet can get a bit crowded, but during the day the resort has a peaceful, laid-back atmosphere as most guests are off exploring the nearby parks.
In short, Lapita Resort is a true gem when it comes to staycations within the UAE. Whether you're planning to spend your days at the surrounding theme parks or just looking for a close-by family retreat, this resort offers a perfect mix of relaxation, fun, and that oh-so-welcome island vibe.
